Compensation: $28.77 - $30.27/hour, depending on education and experience. Atira offers a competitive leave and benefits package after an initial disqualification period.

About the Job:
Reporting to the Director, Supportive Housing, the Land Based Healing Coordinator (the Coordinator) will work within Atira’s programs to develop and implement a Land-Based Healing program for women, which could include establishing a land-based healing committee to revitalize cultural and traditional activities that promote healing. The Coordinator will create and implement a work plan for activities, participate in group counseling, and deliver education sessions for staff and program participants. They will coordinate regular staff debriefing sessions and update staff on issues and concerns; develop a land-based healing program manual; develop a health and safety program; work with program managers to implement related programming, and document values and lessons learned from activities. They will coordinate the permit and licensing of healing camps, maintain an inventory of camp supplies and equipment, manage participant intake, collect data and complete required reporting in relation to the project. The Coordinator will also advocate for services that support individual wellness plans.

You are comfortable working on the land, willing to work flexible hours, and are willing to travel as required. You have a valid BC Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle while working. You are technologically proficient and able to produce reports on time and in the format required by Atira and its funders.
Your combination of education and experience will be equally considered.

Additional Requisites/Assets:
  • A valid First Aid Certificate is required
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate is an asset
  • Covid-19 and annual flu vaccinations are required, unless with exemption
  • All positions are subject to a Criminal Records Review (Submitted by Atira)
