Job Summary

Barnstormer Brewing and Distilling Company is a restaurant, retail store, and production brewery located in beautiful Barrie Ontario. Barnstormer Brewery is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and hardworking craft beer lover to join our growing team in a Cellarman/Assistant Brewer capacity. The primary focus of this position, but not exclusively, is providing support to our brewing team through various cellaring and brewing activities. The position is task driven and needs an individual who can multi-task and deal with the production team, suppliers and with attention to detail being of the utmost importance. This role will touch all areas of the brewhouse from time to time; production, cellaring, inventory, packaging etc. The Assistant Brewer is an hourly paid position.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, while complying with agreed upon procedures, regulations and safety standards

• Lift raw materials finished products and packed items manually or using hoists.

• Load and unload items to and from machines, conveyors and conveyances

• Complete off-line duties such as sub-assembly under instruction from Head Brewer

• Put together finished and semi-finished goods

• Examine products to verify conformity to quality standards are met

• Learn, understand and operate the keg washer or perform keg filling as per the standard operating procedures

• Troubleshoot the keg washer as required

• Complete packaging reports as required

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous relevant experience of 1+ year’s preferred/Previous Brewing experience is considered an asset.

• Post- secondary education

• Ability to lift up-to 50lbs assisted and 20lbs unassisted

• A love of craft beer and a desire to learn more about it

• Attention to detail with good time management skills

• Good physical condition to meet the physical demands of the position

• Ability to stand for long periods of time

• Infectious positive spirit with a flexible schedule to meet production demands

• Must be able to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:
