Riverview Home Corporation is a non-profit corporation providing care and support to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, as well as long term mental illness. Riverview Home Corporation is currently accepting resumes for a Casual Cook.

Cooks are responsible for preparing the main meal, preparing meals for residents on a special diet, homemade soup, sauces and gravy as required. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to serving the meal to residents & staff, completing prep work & a daily cleaning schedule.

Casual cooks will be given the opportunity to work additional shifts as a General Worker in the Dietary Department which involves providing support to the residents at mealtime, portioning desserts, washing pots & pans, operating the dishwasher, sweeping & scrubbing & maintaining general cleanliness of the Dietary Department.

Qualifications

• Copy of Grade 12 or GED certificate is required.
• Training will be provided to successful candidates during the probationary period.
• A valid Food Safety Training Certificate will be considered an asset.
• Experience working with persons with diverse abilities will be considered an asset.

• · Probationary Rate for the first 55 shifts worked will be $22.64 per hour

• Regular Rate after a successful probation period will be $23.02 per hour
• Weekend premiums are an additional $2.25 per hour
• Holidays - 1½ times regular rate of pay
• Additional Requirements
• Prospective employees are required to be available to work weekdays, weekends, & holidays.
• Must be available to work on short notice when required.
• Must work collaboratively with staff in supporting departments throughout the building.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and judgement skills.
• A criminal record check will be required.
