The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.
Approximate # of Hours per week: 15
Type of Shifts: 8hr Days, Evenings, Weekends & Holidays

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
To ensure smooth day-to-day clerical operations of the Health Records department, performs clerical duties related to creating and maintaining patient records, record retrieval, assembly, quality assurance, and release of patient information.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Successful completion of a Medical Office Support Staff Certification, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience .
WHO YOU ARE:
Demonstrated basic knowledge of the Microsoft office suite and good computer skills
Demonstrated customer focused/driven attitude and positive customer philosophy
Accurate keyboarding skills (40 wpm)
Able to use standard office equipment including a computer, laser printer, label printer, fax machine, multifunction photocopier, calculator, and telephone. (Option to add other department specific equipment to the list)
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and follow current privacy regulations.
Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, with patients/families, staff and physicians and the community
Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement when making decisions
Demonstrated good teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively and promote a positive attitude within the team
Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations
Demonstrated ability to work with precision and accuracy with attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated patience and flexibility to support multiple client demands
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task when facing multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to maintain good attendance and punctuality
Ability to remain calm during emergency situations and carefully follow code procedures
Demonstrated ability to complete work accurately and meet deadlines
Demonstrated knowledge of record filing system
Experience using Epic considered an asset
