Adamson Systems Engineering is a mixed mode manufacturer with a strong focus on integration of product technologies, located in beautiful Port Perry Ontario.

The machine shop team comprises CNC machinists, operators, programmers, skilled metal workers and material handlers performing laser, punch and form. Machine shop is a key component of our high-tech manufacturing environment designed with lean assembly principals throughout, featuring, PCB/SMT placement, CNC wood routers, powder/wet spray coating, pressing and assembly operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prep parts
  • Cut stock to required lengths.
  • Operate CNC machines and observe operations to make sure specifications are met.
  • Replace tools when necessary.
  • Check samples to make sure they conform to specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools to position, secure, and align cutting tools in toolholders on machines, and use measuring instruments to verify the positions of tools.
  • Run machines through cycles, adjusting wear offsets as necessary.
  • Set up machines according to setup documentation and prints.
  • Utilize the ERP system and follow priorities from department leads to maintain delivery deadlines.

Prep – Measure and verify dimensions
Operate – Create parts and sub-assemblies according to specifications
Quality – Ensure work is consistent and to specification

Qualifications, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a machine shop environment
  • Ability to read and interpret prints.
  • Confident use of precision measuring equipment with ability to read micrometers and calipers.
  • Manual Machining an asset.
  • Robotics/automation experience an asset.
  • Tool off-setter experience is an asset.
  • Have the knowledge of machine drawings, fit and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls (Mitsubishi is an asset).
  • Experience using calibers, micrometers, indicators.
  • Have the knowledge of machine drawings, fit and tolerances.
