Construction Site Supervisor

Position Overview

We require a full-time permanent Construction Site Supervisor to help with renovations and constructions in Canmore, Alberta.

Salary: $70,000-$95,000 (Depending on experience)

Full-time/Permanent

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

Team Lead:

- With the assist of the Project Manager schedule manpower on site and allocate shifts to employees.
- Conduct site orientation to all new internal and external crew members.
- Be the first point of contact for internal employees and external sub-contractors.
- Educating site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocols.
- Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
- Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures with the assist of the Vice President and Human Resource department.
- Ensure teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
- Monitoring construction processes and providing training and team building session as required.
- Scheduling regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and employees.

General Duties:

- Analyzing blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.
- Recommending changes to construction management or procedures to increase efficiency.
- Writing up reports, project plans, and presenting them to Project Manager and VP of Construction.
- Signing off on invoices.
- Coordinating and communicating materials deliveries to site.

Health & Safety:

- Always ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations.
- Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
- Inspecting construction sites daily (filling out hazard assessment) to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
- Handling site accidents in accordance with established accident protocols and reporting them to the Health and Safety Committee.
- Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
- Ensures cleanliness of construction site.

Skills and Experience

- Construction experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in leading a team/crew.
- Completion of a post-secondary education in construction training program or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working as a site supervisor.
- Sounds knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations.
- Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- The ability to interpret blueprints.
- Outstanding leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Procore Construction Management Software (an asset).

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years’ experience a construction supervisor.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (can be completed during employment)
- Skid steer operation (an asset).
- Must have Vehicle and License.
