We are seeking a Control System Administrator to join our Automation team located at our Joffre Site in Central Alberta, near Red Deer. The Control System Administrator (CSA) is accountable for providing reliable view and control of plant processes to the operating teams in three Ethylene units, two Polyethylene units, and the Utilities and Off-Plots unit. The CSA is also responsible for maintaining Joffre site’s six training simulators.
You Will Use your Expertise To :
Support Honeywell Experion control systems through patching and migration
Perform Honeywell TPN software maintenance and upgrades
Ensure consistent configuration of control systems across site
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Honeywell system performance
Ensure secure and reliable disaster recovery systems are in place and maintained
Perform computer hardware maintenance for servers and workstations
Ensure reliable and functional process control networks (FTE and SCADA)
Provide technical support to project teams including reviewing/constructing DCS discipline design packages, following Change Management processes, generating As-built drawings, collaborating with IT for process control network design and e nsuring project modifications are completed safely and on time
What We Are Looking For:
Technical school diploma or BSc in Engineering or equivalent with related progressive experience in a manufacturing discipline or equivalent technology environment
Registered or eligible for P.Eng, P.L.Eng, or P.Tech through APEGA or ASET respectively
Knowledge of Honeywell Control Systems including LCN, UCN, HPM, C300
Hands-on experience working in a control system environment
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems
Experience working with backup and recovery software
Familiarity with networking concepts in an OT environment
Experience supporting virtual environments in an OT environment
Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy and profile management is beneficial
Experience with task-automation through scripting (Batch, VBScript, PowerShell)
Experience troubleshooting network communication issues and knowledge of Industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus and Ethernet/IP) would be an asset
Apply a safety focused approach to completing tasks in an operating plant
Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently or in a team setting.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Additional Information:
Relocation will be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 0-10% travel
Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
