JOB SUMMARY


The Transportation Services department is responsible for providing a holistic transportation hub focused on addressing the planning, implementation, operations and delivery of all modes of transportation in the City of Ottawa.

You play a key role in the coordinating, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned projects related to human resources, labour relations, regulatory and operational functions associated with the Rail Operational Readiness (ROR) program, which will support the successful launch of the three O-Train extensions being delivered as part of Stage 2 Light Rail. You ensure compliance with relevant Corporate and Branch policies, processes and procedures, liaise with Human Resources in the coordination of recruitment, employee status change, position management, labour relations, training and development, and support management in the decision making process by conducting research, compiling and analyzing research findings, and writing reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Completion of 4 year university degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in a large, multi-site, unionized public organization, working in research, analysis/auditing/reporting, performance measurement, operational/strategic and business planning, business process design or change management.

Directly related experience in human resources, project management, regulatory and operational functions is required.
