CORPORATE SAFETY SUMMER STUDENT

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto and Boston.

We are looking for a Corporate Safety Summer Student with a desire to work in teams to plan and successfully implement projects throughout our facilities here at Cavendish farms. You will work with various locations, provide safety administration support, Hazard Identification analysis, site visits for compliance, and support all initiatives surrounding Key Elements of Safety and Environment Safety Management System.

Salary Range- $17.75 - 23.30/hr

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Attending a post-secondary education in a related field
• Excellent ability to multi-task
• Strong analytical and data-driven thinking
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills & the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently as well as strong team player
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office software

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Corporate HSE Manager in all initiatives & documentation involved with implementation of Key Elements of Safety and Environment (KESE) Safety Management System
• Provide Safety Administration support for Hazard Identification, Incident Investigation, and data entry
• Conduct site compliance audits and reporting throughout PE, NB, & NS
• Support Special Projects as needed
