We're hiring for a part-time/casual Electrical Engineer (P.Eng), who's looking for an opportunity to earn supplemental income working on interesting electrical projects. Our team is working on exciting commercial charging projects for DC fast chargers in Edmonton and Calgary. The chargers range in output from 20 kW - 180 kW, and the quotation work requires electrical engineering advice to determine the appropriate sizing of transformer equipment, wire gauges, and other safety considerations. We have a master electrician full-time with our company, but many of the larger jobs require an electrical engineer to work in collaboration with the rest of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide electrical engineering support to the Master Electrician and Business Development team.
• Size transformers, panels, and complete load calculations.
• Aid the business development team with preparing competitive bids for commercial jobs.
• Interact with external organizations like utilities providers, distributors, and government agencies in a professional capacity.

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineer (P.Eng) with minimum 5 years of experience.
• Registered and in Good Standing with APEGA.
• Experience in residential and commercial electrical.
• Understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.

This role is a new role for our company, and you have the opportunity to play an integral role in the commercial business division. The hours are flexible, and will be based off our pipeline of projects. You can work evenings, weekends, or during the day depending on your personal schedule.

The position is fully remote, but your expected work location is Edmonton or Calgary.
