The successful candidate will possess strong general mechanical skills to work in our design office in Lindsay, Ontario. Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and or Inventor is required. Based on the candidates experience they will use their skills to successfully take projects from design managers and prepare designs for final issue to our in-house manufacturing facility. In addition, they will provide shop and installation support for manufacturing personnel and customers.

Key Duties Include*

  • Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Inventor. CAD detail of mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic systems and materials.
  • Independent and team efforts on large multi-discipline industrial automation equipment design and detail projects.
  • Be a part of a team that: Completes the design cycle (Kick Off Meeting, Product Selection, Design, Detail, Check, Markup, Approval, Bill of Material, Issuing, General Assembly Drawings, Install Drawings and Fabrication/Assembly Technical Shop Support).
  • Participate in pre/post-design reviews.
  • Complete as-built drawing mark-ups with plant assembly input and supervision of Designer and/or Managers.
  • Project documentation *(Depending on the candidate’s strengths – subject to vary slightly).
  • Other tasks as required by the Engineering department group

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2-year Dip. Eng. Technology – Mechanical
  • 5 years Minimum design/detailing experience in related industries.
  • Working Experience in one or more of the following specialty areas;
  • Manufacturing design as it relates to fabrication/assembly of automated equipment.
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics design/detailing.
  • Sheet metal flat panel developments *
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team (both internal and remote), including mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation and CAD support.
  • Fully versed in Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 or later is required.
  • Advanced experience with Autodesk Inventor 2015 or later is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Drafting fundamentals and practices.
  • Microsoft Office 2012 or later.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
