Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Financial Analyst is an integral member of the Finance team supporting day-to-day functions at the Head Office in Woodbridge, Ontario.
Job Description:
- Perform the monthly financial close for assigned subsidiaries and sections including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements and supplementary reports such as KPIs, operational metrics, profitability and variance analysis
- Prepare and update sales tax and environmental handling fee
- Assist with banking EFT/Wire and payment processing
- Assist with annual financial audit and other reviews/audits as required
- Assist with revenue initiatives and/or new business lines/opportunities implementation
- Assist with implementation and administration of internal control policies and procedures
- Perform GAAP research as required
- Assist with Finance transformation or special projects
- Other ad-hoc Finance related tasks as required
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a prior Financial Analyst/Accountant role
- Pursuing an accounting designation (CPA) is a plus
- Experience with full-cycle accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong task and time management skills
- Detail oriented
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a group
- Able to thrive in fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs
- Comfortable and experienced in communicating with management and customers
- Tech-savvy and proficient with excel an asset
- Experience with NetSuite an asset
