Job description:

• Job Title: Tactical Security Patrol Guard
• Location: Toronto, Downtown region properties
• Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
• Schedule: 8 hours, 12 hours Continental Days, Nights, and Rotation
• Schedule Hours: 40 to 44 hours per week
• Salary: $18 to $20.40 per hour

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid Open Work Permit, Permanent Resident or Citizenship or any other legal eligibility to work full time in Canada
• Minimum 1 year of full time Security Guard experience preferred
• Candidate having Educational background in Police Foundations, Criminology, Law and justice, Security and Protection or related public safety field is considered an asset.
• Excellent Customer Service and above-average computer skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and observational awareness
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Ability to work productively and efficiently in a team

Working Conditions:

• Physical demands include long periods of foot patrolling, standing, and walking for 8 to 12 hours
• Parking is not available at the site
• Required to work various rotating shifts on short notice and be available for work in a 24x7x365 environment

Major Responsibilities:

• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
• Screening unauthorized persons and physically removing unauthorized personnel found trespassing or engaging in criminal acts or breaching the policies
• Legally arrest individuals and surrender them to the police as soon as possible
• Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with
• Obtain statements and collect information for incident reports
• Log in/out of key, radio, and pager audits
• Handle lost & found items and inquiries
• Report any unsafe working conditions in any/all departments
• Ability to de-escalate a crisis situation, provide support, and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedics
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
• Respond to all emergency response needs such as providing first aid, missing persons, etc.
• Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly
• Other duties as outlined by management
