Job Summary
The Gear Manager and Operations Assistant will be responsible for managing all of the film production equipment at our school and assisting with operations. The candidate will oversee the use, maintenance, and inventory of equipment including cameras, lighting, sound, and other related items. They will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is properly stored, organized, and available to students and faculty members as needed. Additionally, the gear manager will be responsible for coordinating equipment rentals and purchases as necessary to maintain our school's production capabilities.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of film production equipment, including inventory, storage, and use
Operations of facilities support
Ongoing software support for computers
Coordinate equipment rentals and purchases
Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and in good working order
Provide training and support to students and faculty members on the use of equipment
Manage the budget for equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacement
Monitor the use of equipment to ensure compliance with school policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records of equipment use and inventory
Facilities management
Facility rentals
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience managing film production equipment
Strong software inventory knowledge
Strong knowledge of cameras, lighting, sound, and other related equipment
Experience with equipment rentals and purchases
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Proven ability to meet changing priorities, work to deadlines and make responsible decisions while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Ability to speak to large groups and to take the initiative in identifying problems and possible solutions.
