GENERAL LABOURER- GREENHOUSE
To ensure the ability to produce quality potato products in a changing environment, Cavendish Farms has invested in a Research Facility in New Annan, PE. (25533 Route 2, New Annan, PE)
This position will involve working as a team in greenhouse and field activities on potato research and breeding for Current and Future Seasonal needs.
Duties and work environment:
The work is indoors and, during Spring-Summer, also outdoors
Farming and/or agriculture experience is desired
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to lift up to 50lbs (25kgs)
Responsible for maintenance of plants in the greenhouse, including sowing, transplanting, and harvesting
Filling and washing pots and trays
Support field planting, harvesting and potato grading
Availability to work extended hours
Must have transportation, valid driver’s license is an asset
Other duties as required
Compensation and benefits:
Wage is $17.23 per hour with possibility of bonus on peak seasons
Unique experience being part of a scientific potato breeding program
