Heartbeat Transport Ltd has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic on a full-time weekly schedule with occasional weekends. The expectation of this skilled position is to have a diverse and competent expertise in the mechanical repair and maintenance of commercial highway trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities:

• Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders; however, the mechanic is expected to determine the nature and extent of necessary repairs.
• Diagnosis, inspection, repair, and service of Highway tractors and trailers
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
• Work safely and ensure work space is clean and organized
• Provide excellent workmanship and prompt attention to mechanical issues in a timely manner

Key Skills

• Certified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
• 2 Years minimum of related work experience
• Valid Class 5 licence with a clean abstract
• Class 1 licence an asset
• CVIP Certification an asset
• Organized, clean, safe and professional
