HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

SUMMARY

Responsible for the operation of the Human Resources function by ensuring the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and programs. The role provides guidance and support to all areas of organisation in regards to employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, training and development, as well as compensation and benefits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements and government regulations affecting the human resources function;

· Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant with internal and external requirements;

· Provide managers and supervisors support and guidance in the application of various polices and procedures such as discipline and performance, employee complaints, health and safety or conflict resolution;

· Responsible for the recruitment and selection of qualified workforce in line with current and future needs;

· Manage the new employee orientation and integration in order to foster a positive attitude toward company goals;

· In collaboration with all departments, oversee and support both the formal and informal performance appraisal processes;

· Produce and monitor the annual training plan according to the group guidelines and business needs;

· In charge of the negotiation and renewal of the group benefit plans such as medical insurance, RSP, employee assistance program; seek to update or introduce new ones that will fit the needs of the organisation;

· Maintain proper documentation on all employee relations issues and resolutions.

· Administer company programs such as service awards, performance related pay, and incentive systems;

· Drive and participate in employee wellness and recognition events and programs;

· Coordinate employee communication meetings and information sessions.

· Oversee the day-to-day operations: the payroll function, the administration of group benefit, record keeping.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Graduate degree in Human Resources or in a related field preferred;

· Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR generalist position

· Good working knowledge of employment legislation (Quebec employment standards, CNESST)

· Strong communication skills both oral and written (English and French);

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel and Word;

· Ability to operate with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and strong work ethics;

· Ability to work with all levels of the organization;

· Able to handle any situation in a calm and professional manner;

· Outstanding communications skills, reliable, and well organized.
