We first invited people to visit our family’s apple farm in Milton, Ontario, in 1967. We are seeking an HR Manager to join Chudleigh's Brand team. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing. This position is based out of Chudleigh's Brand office at 176 Main Street East, Second Floor, Milton L9T 1N8.

Start Date: April 2023

Under the direction of the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, the Human Resources Manager will be a fundamental part of the organization, guiding legislative compliance, talent development, total reward, organization design and talent acquisition and retention. We are eager to find a Human Resources Manager who connects easily with people and has a detail-oriented mindset for handling the dynamic nature of today’s workforce.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Identifying issues and opportunities, supporting talent strategies aligned with Chudleigh's vision, mission, and goals
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating human resources programs including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, compensation, health, safety and wellness, employee benefits, training and development, HR technology, succession planning, employee retention, employee relations and compliance
• Championing the onboarding process by ensuring it is high-quality and up-to-date and providing clarity and connection for employees, so their roles serve the overall business vision
• Leading the talent acquisition process
• Maintaining management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resources policies and procedures
• Working closely with department leaders in structuring and developing their respective teams to maximize performance and employee engagement
• Ensuring legislative compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Serving as a liaison between management and employees within the organization by handling questions and employee relations matters, interpreting and administering policies and procedures
• Building strong relationships with employees at all levels, fostering trust and promoting collaboration
• Handling confidential matters with discretion
• Maintaining the organization of uniforms for Apple Farm and Blossom Café
• Validating employee hours by department
• Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

• A post-secondary degree in a related field, CHRP designation would be considered a vital asset
• Five or more years of experience as an HR Manager/Generalist
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset
• Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Experience with the development of onboarding and performance management programs
• Experience with the recruitment cycle, creating job descriptions, job postings, reviewing resumes, interviewing, etc.
• Experience with compensation design and market evaluations
• Experience with evaluating benefits plans for their effectiveness and ability to attract and retain employees
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams) and Zoom
• Experience with HRIS systems
• Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills are critical
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Impeccable attention to detail is an absolute must
• A valid Social Insurance Number and legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
