Exceptional Minds Adaptive Learning Services Inc. is looking to hire dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to work with our clients at our centre.
We are looking for individuals who have the ability to "think outside the box" and enjoys working with children and in a team environment. The ideal candidate should be solution oriented and creative.
Clients are supervised by a Program Supervisor, BCBA
On the job training will be provided to qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and organize the teaching environment and materials
- Review available information pertaining to child
- Provide Intensive Behavioural Intervention
- Follow prescribed programs as written and seek consultation as needed
- Utilize sound clinical judgment
- Assess individual child’s skills, abilities, interests, strengths and needs
- Collect and graph data to be used to evaluate child’s progress toward program goals
- Prepare written documentation regarding child’s session and progress as required
- Collaborate with other team members in the development of Intensive Behavioural Intervention programs and procedures
- Maintain regular communications with parents and family members as required
- Participate in scheduled team meetings and conferences as required
- Present information (both written and oral) sensitively and effectively
- Collaborate with supervising Senior Therapists regarding programming and child’s progress
Qualifications: The Instructor Therapist must possess:
- A College Diploma or University Degree related to Applied Behavior Analysis
- Experience working with young children who have been diagnosed with Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
- Demonstrate experience applying the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Knowledge of early childhood development
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Organizational and time management skills
- A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Recent vulnerable sector screening
- Crisis Prevention Intervention or Safety Management training
