Intern, Software Developer Job at Autodesk

Position Overview
This is a unique opportunity to work in a research group within an established, multi-national, high-end software company in Toronto. Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and skilled data analyst/software developer coop to join our multidisciplinary Human-Centered Building Design (HCBD) initiative. The position will involve working with Autodesk tools and data science tools to find correlations between architectural spaces and occupant schedules, generate and visualize occupant travel paths, and generate congestion visualizations. The work will include data processing, programming, visual programming, and basic visualizations.
Responsibilities
  • Work with raw data files to generate clean data sets
  • Use path-planning tools to derive travel paths within architectural spaces
  • Visualize the generated data sets in their architectural context
  • Test and problem solve issues as they arise
  • Write documentation of the work carried out, either as part of an academic paper or for internal communication
  • Contribute to the technical expertise of the HCBD Group
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Architecture, Engineering sciences, or other related discipline
  • Experience and knowledge of Python programming and scientific libraries
  • Experience in geometry processing
  • Experience with data science and visualization libraries
  • Preferred but not required: familiarity with Autodesk Dynamo
