Junior Municipal Stormwater/ Water Resources EIT Job at R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited
R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited (Burnside) is currently seeking an EIT or Junior Stormwater/Water Resources Engineer to join our Municipal practice.
As a member of the Municipal Group you will be involved in a variety of stormwater projects including municipality-wide and site-specific stormwater management planning and design solutions.
Role Specifics
- Assist in investigating, reporting and designing infrastructure related to stormwater management. This would include:
- Performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations using various modelling techniques
- Grading and drainage plans
- Designing stormwater quality/quantity/erosion control infrastructure
- Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
- Undertaking investigations that might include stream gaging and modeling.
- Supporting senior engineers and project managers in the production of preliminary and detailed design drawings and preparation of related reports,
- Coordination with various approval agencies such as Conservation Authorities, MECP etc., to obtain approvals,
- Working under the guidance of project managers and management staff across the company to develop design skills and ensure design quality standards are met,
- Field inspections, data collection and survey support;
- Work independently and as part of a team;
- Actively engage in professional development and industry events; and
- Other duties required.
Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:
- A Bachelor of Applied Science Degree with a focus on Civil/Environmental Engineering, and/or water resources;
- Registered with the PEO as an EIT, working towards P.Eng.
- A valid Ontario driver’s license and vehicle.
The following experience and skills are considered assets:
- Experience with peer review, environmental assessments, municipal infrastructure design, project management, contract administration
- Experience with Civil 3D;
- Experience with InfoWorks, InfoWater, PCSWMM, SWMHYMO, Visual OTTHYMO and HEC-RAS modelling;
