Overall responsibility
To assist in the production of all assigned prep items in an efficient and consistent manner while following the specifications, recipes, and techniques of the company. To perform dishwashing duties for kitchen equipment and front-of-house dishes, plates, glasses-ware, cutleries and so on.
Key Areas of Duties and Responsibility:
- Prepare food according to the menu and portion standards, ensure food quality is maintained, food presentation is as per set standards and consistent at all times and transfer food/beverage from/to different locations/lounges.
- To control daily food portions according to company standards to prevent and reduce food waste.
- Maintain inventory stocking and records of food and supplies
- Uploading and storing deliveries of food items.
- Strictly follows FIFO - Frist In, First Out order. Label food items with the dates and put the older foods in front or on top so that you use them first.
- Make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific dietary concerns wherever possible.
- To maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, remove and discarding trash at the end of your shift.
- Wash and clean appliances in the kitchen after every use, such as pots, and pans, mixer, etc
- Keep kitchen areas clean and dry at all times. Cleaning and mopping kitchen floors, especially in the event that items are spilled.
- Ensure that you clean and sanitize your work area before the shift ends.
- To maintain good hygiene when preparing foods and ensure that kitchen and storage areas are always cleaned and well maintained and follow food safety guidelines.
- To monitor Knife Count: All sharp objects and knives are to be counted and recorded on the knife record.
- To ensure that proper cleaning procedures are adhered to and personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times during the shift. Employees are expected to follow all health and safety regulations, enforced and updated by the company.
- To work as a team and assist other colleagues with different responsibilities
- To take initiative to identify areas for improvement and participate in continual improvement activities.
- Dishwashing dishes, plates, glassware, cutleries and so on.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- To undertake other jobs assigned by superior from time to time, such as cover duties for colleagues during their break time.
Qualities & Requirements:
- Must have Food Safe Level 1
- Able to work different hours of shift, no fixed schedule.
- Strong sense of customer service, attention to detail
- Communication and writing skills in English
- Good organizational skills, self-motivated and positive attitude
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solving ability
- Able to stand for long hours
- Able to lift up 20lbs baggage
