What you'll be doing:

We're fearless innovators, and we love tough problems and experimentation and we are looking developer who shares these values and is devoted to their craft, writing code they are proud of and can hit the ground running. Our operation spans web-based software, mobile applications, IoT devices and we are looking for the next collaborator to express their ideas by writing beautiful, fast code to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way that bring value to our customers and our team.

You will be a part of a creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development cycle from the initial specification, through to developing, testing and launching. We love what we do. We strive for excellence, go the extra mile and have fun while we do it. In addition to the above, you'll be doing the below:

• Guide yourself across multiple projects from beginning to end
• Participate in developing architecture designs, standards, and technologies
• Engage in system planning and performance analysis
• Attend daily stand-ups with the tech team, participate in planning meetings and provide documentation as needed on specific elements
• Develop endpoints and or services in partnership with other teams
• Follow industry and Routeique derived best practices
• Review teammates' code in pull requests using BitBucket
• Continue to assist the team to standardize and re factor legacy applications
• Implement and deliver solutions to improve the availability, scalability, security, latency, and efficiency of the Routeique platform
• Interact with our deployment pipeline to troubleshoot code or infrastructure issues
• Actively practice TDD with every task, to be directly integrated into our CD pipeline

Who we are looking for:

• You enjoy interacting socially and you can communicate well in writing
  
• You have extensive knowledge of web development, from the initial request to displaying the final result
• You fully understand Laravel, Symfony or other PHP frameworks
• Your software development experience in single page Javascript enabled applications is proven
• You're familiar with database and enterprise design patterns
• Your knowledge of good practices with RESTful API design and HTTP specifications is apparent
• OO Design and design patterns; you're able to decode problems in a simple, neat and organized way
• You have a strong grasp of data protection and web application security principals
• You can digest or help design API docs with 3rd parties
• You have a passion for best design and coding practices and can leverage test driven development; you have a desire to develop new bold ideas
• You have experience with testing frameworks (Example: PHPUnit)
• You're able to move between separate projects
  
• Successful completion of post secondary education in Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or a relevant field

You may also have:

• Experience with React
• Experience in DevOps management such as scalable software and technologies that support it (Docker, AWS Container Services, Elastic Beanstalk)
• Experience with automation frameworks (AWS CloudFormation, BitBucket Pipelines)
• Load and performance testing on existing systems
• Active contribution to continuous improvement practices for CI/CD philosophy
• Experience developing E-Commerce, billing and payment solutions
