Legend Mining is currently seeking a Lead Mechanic to join our Legend Mining Team in Sudbury, Ontario.

The role is located at the Legend Mining office and shop and supports the various client sites that Legend Mining is engaged with. Some underground work is expected on sites that do not warrant full time mechanical coverage however the primary function is to ensure that all sites are supported with technical knowledge, assisting procurement with parts needed, re-builds in shop, and assisting with planned maintenance advice.

The Lead Mechanic is responsible to

• Advise when required with yearly/monthly/weekly/hourly scheduled maintenance
• Support site maintenance staff
• Assist with Transporting equipment for repair between site and shop using supplied transportation.
• Complete various overflow repairs as required in Legend Mining shop
• Occasionally service and repair equipment underground
• Prepare and service various equipment for contracts
• Using your knowledge to assist site personnel in troubleshooting equipment defects and repairs

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic, equivalent trade experience considered
• Minimum of five (10) years related experience
• Experience with parts sourcing and building relationships with our suppliers
• Ability to work in a team environment and self-sufficient during field activities
• Sound written and verbal communication skills; some computer literacy required
• Flexible, self-motivated, confident, and proud of being a part of a growing team
