Park Place Seniors Living is currently recruiting for LICENCED PRACTICAL NURSE (FULL TIME Permanent) to work at our 75 suite retirement community in Squamish!

In keeping with the Mission, Vision and Values of PPSL, the LPN, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, uses the nursing process and applies his/her nursing knowledge, skills and clinical judgment in performing assessments, planning, implementing and providing quality and person-centred care to the residents. The LPN operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice as outlined by the relevant provincial governing body’s practice standards and Code of Ethics and PPSL policies and procedures. The LPN/RPN practices in a setting where the client care needs are established and changes in health condition are predictable and ensures a commitment to PPSL’s “culture of safety.”

Responsibilities

  • Ensure resident care is provide with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies, as well as, observe, report and record vital signs, symptoms and conditions of residents, and initiate remedial health measures where appropriate. Assure observance of required techniques in nursing care.
  • Assess residents and develop, implement, review and evaluate resident care plans. Monitor residents’ health, notes changes in condition and assess need for referral to doctors; processes and implement physician orders.
  • Organize and direct functions and activities related to provision of care to residents including restorative care and palliative care as required. Interprets and implements established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit. Orient and train new personnel and may participate in in-service education. Monitor performance and conduct performance appraisal and refers problems to the Director of Care.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) / Registered Practical Nurses (RPN)
  • Experience: At least one (1) year recent related experience
  • Responsible to maintain and provide proof of active registration with respective provincial College:
