Calgary Housing Company (CHC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary. The Maintenance Administrator will be an important contributor and change champion to help us reach our ambitious vision to be the best – for our residents, our employees, and our city. Primary duties include:
  • Monitor and respond to a variety of maintenance requests (for example: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, residential repairs, and renovations), assign work orders to internal staff or external contractors as required, and follow-up to ensure an immediate response in emergency situations.
  • Coordinate trades, staff, and contractors in order to complete work effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with staff and tenants to schedule repairs.
  • Diagnose and trouble shoot maintenance problems with tenants over the phone.
  • Create work order and purchase order follow-up reports and investigate those that have not yet been invoiced.
  • Respond to questions from tenants related to the maintenance of units and lease requirements.
  • Provide building maintenance and management support to supervisors.
Qualifications
  • A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) plus at least 3 years of experience in a residential property management, maintenance, or construction setting.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
  • Coursework related to maintenance, building systems, customer service, conflict resolution or the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) will be considered assets.
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and/or Yardi will be considered assets.
  • Previous scheduling and/or dispatching experience would also be considered assets.
  • You have well developed communication and interpersonal skills along with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong conflict management skills and the ability to effectively deal with stressful situations.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a fast paced and heavy workload with constantly changing priorities.

Compensation: Pay Grade 7 $33.33 - $44.60 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.


Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
