Overview

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is looking for summer students to join the North Vancouver Wharves location for the summer term (May 1 – August 25, 2023). Applicants who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2023 and are able to work the entire term (May 1 to August 25) are invited to apply for a summer position with Pembina Pipeline Corporation.


To be considered for a Summer Student position, applicants must be:

  • Applicant must be attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2023
  • Be at least 18 years old; and
  • Must be available to work the entire term (May 1 to August 25).

Responsibilities

  • Work with the engineering teams on projects to improve data collection, processing and reporting;
  • Support engineering process improvement initiatives and projects;
  • Re-organize and scan historical site drawings into the current file structure;
  • Support various site staff and contractors on current engineering projects; and
  • Comply with Pembina, ESDC, and Vancouver Wharves terminal safety regulations/requirements and adhere and follow all EHS procedures or programs, Terminal SOPs, and Terminal SSPs;
  • Work with the maintenance teams on projects to improve asset performance;
  • Support maintenance process improvement initiatives and projects;
  • Review documentation and update the computerized maintenance management system with nameplate data from installed infrastructure; and
  • Comply with Pembina, ESDC, and Vancouver Wharves terminal safety regulations/requirements and adhere and follow all EHS procedures or programs, Terminal SOPs, and Terminal SSPs.

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in accredited Engineering program in Canada;
  • Have a solid ability to read and understand engineering drawings;
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Word, EXCEL and project;
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication competencies;
  • Detail oriented and accurate;
  • Ability to write and speak in a clear, concise manner for different types of audiences;
  • Can openly communicate information in a timely manner with the Terminal staff and customers and be capable of delivering a presentation clearly and persuasively;
  • Protects and uses confidential information with discretion;
  • Actively works in a team environment with the common objective of encouraging team spirit;
  • Willingly and open-mindedly adapts to changes needed to achieve optimum results;
  • Ability to work efficiently ensuring work completes on schedule; and
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.


Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
