Whyte's Foods is currently looking for a Maintenance Manager for our location in Wallaceburg! Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Maintenance Department and assisting with a full range of skilled mechanical maintenance, diagnostic, inspection and repair duties on the industrial equipment.

Main responsibilities:

• The maintenance of equipment and systems to assure that product is manufactured on time, in a safe and sanitary manner
• Order, stock and maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed to complete all repairs
• Contact necessary service providers when required for repairs required during or after working hours emergencies
• Communicate and ensure the team follows the preventive maintenance plan, address overall plant efficiency, mechanical downtime reduction and cost reduction opportunities.
• Ensure the team use proper tools and material and respect the safety rules and regulations in the course of their work
• Contact service provider when quotes are required for projects
• Work closely with production and quality department to achieve the company goals
• Make recommendations for improvements to equipment and processes
• Ensure to support production activities with the setup, installation, and maintenance of production equipment
• Be actively involved with root cause analysis and problem solving
• Supervises the employee, assess performance, coach, and address gaps
• Document conversations with employees (individual and group meetings)
• Participate in the recruitment process for his team
• Ensure the compliance of the facility (food safety, food quality, environmental policies etc.)
• Identifies the required work on the building, organize and supervise the work
• Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety rules and practices for themselves and production employees.
• Performs all other related tasks

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of related experience in management
• Experience in mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulic and welding.
• Experience in high-speed packing and manufacturing machinery and methods
• Professional Engineering Designation or equivalent.
• Available to work extended shifts and weekend.
• Excellent communication skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
