Manager, Financial Information and Control

Department: Finance

Location: Laval, QC

Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hybrid mode: 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely

As part of The Alimentation Couche-Tard head office team, the financial information and internal control group plays a key role in the company. The main responsibilities of the manager within this group are as follows:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better: 

1. Responsibility of the team of eight financial analysts:

  • Supervision, management and allocation of responsibilities;
  • Training and resource development;
  • Monitoring and supervising the progress of the projects on which the analysts are working.

2. Preparation of periodic, quarterly and annual financial information for internal purposes for sharing with senior management and for external purposes to meet the regulatory requirements of a public company:

  • Revision of documents provided by business units and service centers;
  • Consolidation of financial information;
  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, management report and quarterly and annual press release;
  • Participation in the preparation of results analyses and presentations for management and the various committees.

3. Other responsibilities:

· Verify the application of internal controls by business units;

· Development and implementation of the company's accounting policies;

· Research and analysis for complex accounting problems;

· Support to business units and management;

· Active participation in various special projects:

  • IFRS conversions of acquired companies;
  • Alignment of accounting policies of acquired companies;
  • Allocation of purchase prices of acquired companies;
  • Implementation of internal controls of acquired companies;
  • Participation in the preparation of financing documents;
  • Participation in comparative analysis projects within the company.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor in Administration;
  • Hold a CPA accounting designation;
  • Have 8 to 14 years of relevant experience;
  • Very good knowledge of IFRS accounting standards;
  • Experience in team management and project management;
  • Experience in complex accounting issues;
  • Be concerned about quality work, be autonomous and show initiative;
  • Know how to manage priorities while respecting deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate;
  • Bilingualism necessary written and spoken (French and English);
  • Be available to travel occasionally;
  • Excellent command of office automation tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word ;
  • Proficiency in Longview and Workiva an asset.
