The Position

This position oversees and directs several management teams of associates in the development, implementation, and ongoing support of existing and new software applications and hardware platforms. Works closely with end-user groups to ensure operational stability and that new application meet the practical needs of the company.

Responsibilities

- Lead agile delivery of multiple software development projects in parallel for the store associates. Projects are cross-functional from receiving, freight management, productivity, workforce management, asset protection and MET.

- Collaborate with key business teams, store leadership teams and internal IT organization to envision and deliver high-quality technology products in line to the strategic imperatives of the organization.

- Lead and support production applications to maintain highest levels of SLAs and SLOs. Lead team to provide the quickest possible tactical solutions in crisis.

- Build high-performance technology teams. Hire, develop and retain high-potential technical resources. Do mid-year and annual reviews. Conduct 1:1 meetings with staff. Maintain and boost the morale of the team.

- Build and maintain a capital financial plan for delivery teams.

- Negotiates favorable prices with vendors on hardware, software assets, and vendor resources. Manage vendor software development teams to get the highest value.

- Communicate the status of activities with the business partners, peers, management, and end users.

Experience / Knowledge Required

- A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

- Excellent organizational and large-scale projects/program delivery skills.

- Excellent people leadership and management skills. Ability to Hire, develop and retain high potential technical resources.

- Excellent communication (Presentation, facilitation, and writing skills), stakeholders and vendor management skills.

- Nine plus years of experience in the related software development field is preferred, over 2 years of which are in a manager capacity.

- Business and financial analysis skills

- Technical skills may include experience with one or more of: SAP ECC, java, Angular, React, typescript and JavaScript. System Frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, MVC and others.
