Material Control Coordinator Job at Somerville Merchandising Inc.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Material Control Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement, processes and monitoring of client finished goods inventory.
Main Duties:
- Plan, organize and ensure completion of regular cycle count processes in conjunction with warehouse staff and reporting variances
- Prepare regular inventory reports, ensuring integrity by monitoring internal transfer and shipping processes
- Monitor inventory levels and trigger production orders based on minimum quantity levels, including third party items
- Receive IBT’s and ensure correct transfer and allocation of products
- Manage external transfers, ensuring inventory levels are adjusted accordingly
- Co-ordinate, assign and review the work of clerks engaged in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and maintaining inventories of parts and product
- Processing purchasing transactions in the system and suggesting reorder quantities according to inventory levels and customer demand.
Employment Requirements:
- A minimum of two years post-secondary education or equivalent in related studies
- 2-3 years of inventory experience in a manufacturing setting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word a must
- Knowledge of ERP systems, and report building software
