Job Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Line Leader or Production Supervisor; the Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring the equipment is operated safely and correctly by utilizing monitors and gauges on the equipment. He/she will ensure that equipment is operated within process specifications and that good quality product is produced at all times.

Shifts Available:

• Day Shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Afternoon Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Location: IM2 Facility - 735 Intermodal Drive, Brampton ON

Key Responsibilities

• Pick and stage raw materials and packaging needed for production
• Perform general housekeeping for production lines to ensure safe efficient and clean maintenance of work areas i.e. removal of excess supplies and pallets
• Creates requisitions for packaging, ingredients and pallets/totes as per production schedule and on demand
• Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes
• Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your Supervisor
• Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company
• Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation

Qualifications:

• Completion of high school education or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience on Industrial MHE such as: Reach Truck/Counterbalance Forklift/Walkie
• Experience with WHS and RF Scanning (Visual is an asset)
• Forklift Operator Certification is an asset

Working Conditions:

• Repetitive tasks such as, handling heavy loads, ie lifting full cartons/case packs from pallet to location
• Bending, crouching, kneeling, scanning in a repetitive motion or for long periods of time
• Standing or sitting on Counterbalance Forklift/ Reachtruck/Walkie Equipment for extended periods
• Requirement to lift up to 50lbs and work in a repetitive motion
