Title: Outside Sales Representative

Authority/Reporting: This role reports directly to the Sales Manager. This role has no supervisory or managerial authority and no direct reports.

General Description of the Role

The Outside Sales Representative is a motivated, self-driven sales professional who will recognize and cultivate potential sales leads, travel to meet with prospective customers in the assigned territory and maintain relationships with current customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and following up on potential leads utilizing a proven sales process.

Role Accountabilities

o Sourcing new business opportunities in the Brooks area.

o Develop sales strategies and maintain high productivity levels.

o Meeting and exceeding sales goals.

o Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services, and how they can benefit our customers.

o Utilize and cultivate existing customer contact base.

o Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer specific needs.

o Adhere to all company procedures, values, and policies to provide an accurate representation of the company to all potential and current customers.

Specific Tasks

o Travel within assigned territory to meet prospects and customers.

o Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with customers.

o Provide product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes.

o Support customers after initial sales to ensure satisfaction and realize opportunities for future sales.

o Submit reports on sales activity regularly and maintain clean and updated records for all leads and customers.

o Develop and make presentations of products and services to current and potential customers.

o Prepare sales action plans and strategies.

o Suggest pricing adjustments to make our products more competitive in the marketplace.

o Make deliveries when necessary.

Skills and Experience/Qualifications

Required skills- you are:

o Someone who can sell and is comfortable selling.

o Someone who possesses excellent customer service skills.

o Fluent in English.

o A good communicator, both verbally and in writing.

o Able to work effectively and productively without close supervision.

o Someone with strong networking skills, you are extraverted.

o Punctual and reliable as a worker.

o Proficient with computers generally and the Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular.

o Physically capable of safely lifting 50 pounds.

Desirable skills- you may:

o Possess experience with industrial/welding supplies.

Required experience/qualifications- you have:

o A High school diploma or equivalent.

o Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience, ideally in the welding industry, but otherwise in an industrial setting.

o A valid Class 5 driver’s license.

o A clear driving record.

Desirable experience/qualifications- you may have:

o A Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field.
