AUTO PARTS COUNTER POSITION

Job Description

Mac’s Auto Parts is a family owned business that strives on maximum customer service and satisfaction. We currently have a full time role available for a Parts Counter person. The successful candidate will be committed to customer service and an effective communicator – in person, on the phone and using a computer. He/she will be able to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment. A willingness to learn, good memory and the ability to work well with numbers is crucial. The position will be full time, 10 hour shifts, Wednesday – Saturday.

Role and Responsibilities

· Deliver excellent customer service while meeting the needs of all telephone and walk-in customers.

· Utilizing the computer system to look up the correct parts for customers on the phone or in person.

· Ensuring customer parts orders are accurately filled and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

· Effectively communicating product features, benefits and warranty policy information to customers.

· Build hydraulic hoses for customers as needed.

· Ensure stock is full and inventory put away as it comes in.

Requirements

· Experience delivering a high level of customer service and sales results

· Proficient knowledge of automotive operating systems and repairs

· An appetite for continuous learning and knowledge

· Excellent verbal, written and effective listening skills

· Experience working under pressure and setting priorities

· Computer experience mandatory (Counterpart program knowledge would be an asset)

· Industrial parts knowledge an asset

· Experience with hydraulic hoses and fittings an asset

· Forklift certification or experience an asset

Compensation and benefits

Mac’s Auto Parts offers a competitive wage in the Auto Parts industry at $21-24/hr to start, depending on experience, along with a Medical/Dental/Pension benefit plan. The benefit plan will be available after a 90 day probationary period.
