Position Overview: This is the perfect job for someone who desires to make meaningful and direct impacts in the community through the use of their strong administration, organization, and customer service skills as a member of the Planning and Development Department. The duties include but are not limited to regularly responding to development related customer inquiries and providing assistance via email, phone, and in-person; data entry and analysis; tracking department performance measures, implementing business improvements of an administrative nature; and other general administrative duties and projects. Acting as a clerk for committees and boards (e.g. Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, Canmore Planning Commission) you will have the responsibility of managing the appeal process from application filing to decision of the Board and liaising with chairpersons and legal counsels. Speaking confidently in public meetings is also a required aspect of this role. You will have the opportunity to further develop your exceptional communication, organization, and customer service skills in providing support to all aspects of the department’s functions, initiatives and projects.

You have experience in municipal government or in planning and development.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $30.87 to $36.32
  • Earned Day Off (EDO) Program: opportunity to work an additional half hour per day to have every third Friday off (day of your choice)
