This position is responsible for full scope project design, planning and serving as the technical head of the engineering platforms. Through the successful management of a group of engineers, technologists and designers, platform leads deliver high quality designs within budget and schedule. This is a leadership position that involves management, design, project planning, estimating, a certain level of customer relations and interfacing with the rest of the company. The successful candidate will own the engineering and product development of the agricultural platform department.

Role:
- Prepares functional and design specifications of Agricultural grain cart applications including plans, technical details and specifications that will create long-term profitability of the platforms
- Create, lead, mentor and manage engineering teams for successfully delivering projects to internal customers, i.e. manufacturing or other platforms.
- Ensure the design team is provided with all required technical tools for efficient project delivery
- Ensures effective communication between all stakeholders related to team's area of responsibility and deliveries
- Review, evaluate, and identify areas for improving cost, quality, feature offerings, etc to business development leads
- Comfortable being involved in every facet of the design phase; being a hands-on working leader.
- Engineer or Technologist with minimum 7 years’ of professional experience (preferred 10 years’) in mechanical and equipment design.
- 2+ years of proven experience leading other Engineers
- 5+ years of Research and Development experience
- Extensive capabilities in inventory, Solidworks, AutoCAD, or other 2D and 3D design software's
- Extensive product/project knowledge in the platform area
- Professional interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm and driven to succeed in a positive environment
- Demonstrated experience in the design of agricultural equipment.
