For over 100 years, NB Power (www.nbpower.com) has been a part of the fabric of New Brunswick, Canada and is the primary source of power for most of New Brunswick’s residents, businesses and industries. The Crown-owned utility has one of the most diverse operations in North America with multi-faceted operations including hydro, nuclear, fossil and renewable fuel generation, as well as transmission, distribution and total system operation.

NB Power is seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer who has the drive to take the utility beyond its roots of generation, transmission, and distribution to a transformed, futurist energy provider, with emphasis on renewable energy, new energy services, and customer-centered ways of doing business. At the same time, navigating a reliable, affordable path to net zero.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is accountable for the vision, strategy, inspirational leadership and management of all aspects of the company, including financial performance, environmental performance and safety.

For this critical position, the Board is seeking someone who has gained broad executive experience in a larger, complex environment, preferably in or closely related to the regulated-electricity sector. Beyond this base level qualification, the Board is seeking a respected and trusted leader who combines a bias for action, an innovative approach and entrepreneurial mindset with a record of having successfully transformed an organization, all the while maintaining public trust.

The position is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, an idyllic community nestled along the beautiful Saint John River.
