The Production Supervisor works under the general direction of the Operations Manager and other designated management as required. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operations of the packaging process for all finished goods.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage day-to-day packaging operations for the BZAM Cannabis Corp. site in Edmonton, AB;

· Oversee the complete packaging process and ensure the final product meets the required specifications required by Health Canada and adherence to the Cannabis Act;

· Assume responsibility for finished goods including pre-rolls, primary packaging, secondary packaging, and excise stamping of all cannabis products under the Cannabis Act;

· Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees;

· Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluate new equipment and techniques;

· Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources;

· Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action;

· Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure Good Production Processes (GPP) standards are achieved;

· Create and maintain production schedules, including job scheduling and staff scheduling;

· Work closely with other department leaders to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and optimize performance;

· Ensure finishing and packaging Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and updated as required;

· Assist with the execution of production-related budgets and develop strategies to manage and reduce operating costs to meet budgets;

· Ensure sufficient stock for packaging supplies, including future planning needs;

· Ensure sanitation procedures are being executed.;

· Ensure training and development of employees, including completing performance reviews;

· Assist with inter-departmental equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and commissioning;

· Identify improvements in processing quality and efficiencies;

· Supporting Plant Production and Sanitation tasks will be required from time to time; and

· Other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU BRING:

· Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes/procedures;

· General understanding of the operational controls and inventory movement of controlled substances;

· Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment;

· Demonstrated communication and organizational skills;

· WHMIS training/certification preferred;

· Familiarity with Health Canada regulated environments and protocols is an asset;

· Proactive mindset and ability to self-motivate;

· Strong analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail; and

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of personalities in a dynamic environment.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

· 3-5 years’ experience in packaging/production management;

· 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role;

· Experience working in GMP/GPP facilities strongly preferred; and

· Previous experience working in the regulated cannabis strongly preferred.
