Universal Precision Technology is a well-established organization that specializes in the manufacturing of precision components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, aircraft, military, medical, optical and defense sectors. We are looking to increase our diverse and dynamic team with the addition of a skilled individual.

Reporting to Senior Management the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate excellent working knowledge of Quality systems and leading a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow and comply with all AS9100 REV D and ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing and quality standards, regulations, legislative and customer requirements to ensure highest standards are maintained
  • Manage and maintain the Controlled Goods Program
  • Manage, coach and mentor a team of 5-10 employees
  • Training of all staff for ISO9001:2015, AS9100, CGP, calibrations, etc.
  • Manage & maintain QMS, AS9100 audits, customer audits, CGP Audits
  • Coordinate internal audits of the QMS to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
  • Write/maintain QMS, SOP, work instructions, master forms, etc.
  • Establish & monitor KPI
  • Chair management review meetings & Chair/Co-Chair communication meetings
  • Review all existing and new customer standards
  • Collect & analyze data from non-conformance worksheets
  • Deal with customers on quality related issues, including but not limited to deviations, NCR’s, FAI’s CAR’s
  • Measure/inspection/compare/verify parts at any stage of production using various precision measuring equipment
  • Maintain calibration system (daily/monthly maintenance, RFQ’s, PO’s, re-calibration, etc.)
  • Receive and ship in process parts, raw material and measuring equipment for any sub-contractor/vendor (including RFQ’s, PO’s and NCR)
  • Recommend and institute cost-effective corrective actions
  • Identify, segregate, collect & analyze data from non-conformances
  • Effectively communicate with other department heads on day-to-day activities
  • Maintain files for inspection reports, material cert’s, sub-contractors, PO’s, FAI’s, etc
  • Review quality trends and initiate corrective actions and root cause analysis as necessary
  • Obey all health & safety regulations – wear appropriate PPE
  • Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry of precision components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, aircraft, military, medical, optical or defense sectors
  • Major or Bachelor's in engineering is an asset
  • Trained in the ISO/TS16949 quality management systems and internal auditing
  • CMM experience with the ability to train
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate others
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong knowledge in problem solving techniques
  • Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability and willingness to implement Lean / Six Sigma initiatives and thinking
  • The proven ability to multi-task and effectively handle a wide variety of Quality tasks Top of Form
  • This individual is required to have strong computer skills with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Able to meet deadlines while under pressure
  • Tooling design and development experience desirable

  • Basic security clearance
  • Own Steel-toe safety shoes
