Responsibilities
In this role, you will report to the QFS Manager of BOTH Western Canada manufacturing sites and be a member of the Quality and Food Safety teams where you will be involved in the daily execution of quality and food safety related programs.
Specifically, the Quality Coordinator’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Business Execution:
- Own day to day execution of assigned food safety programs. This includes checking document execution and providing feedback, updating scorecards and other quality communications.
- Management of the Western Canadian “Food Safety/Quality” calendarized items.
- Management of training software/programs (including supporting the rollout of new training topics/systems as required)
- Peer-to-peer coaching of on-floor quality assurance operators
- Investigating discrepancies as needed to complete root cause analysis with the Quality Manager.
- Participate in preparation for regulatory & internal audits
- Administration of document control on the production floor
- Participation in document review and other document control activities.
- General Quality Control administrative work.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with all company food safety standards and facilitating the application of related Policies and Programs. To be successful in this role, you will need to bring your positive attitude, attention to detail, as well as an auditor’s mindset with a teaching/coaching mentality.

Shifts (Flexibility is an asset)
Predominantly dayshift, however there are times where off-shift support may be needed.
Team member is expected to have a 50% presence at both sites (Taber Frito-Lay & Lethbridge Frito-Lay).
Qualifications
Key Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent. Post-Secondary education will be an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicate with all levels of employees including leadership.
- Intermediate skillset in Microsoft Office Software Suite (excellent Excel/Word/PowerPoint capability is an asset)
- Keen attention to detail is important. Leveraging detailed investigative techniques and comprehension of product flow across all departments is required. This can be taught, but the candidate must be willing to learn.
- Highly organized - both digital and physical document management is an asset.
- Food safety, nutrition or quality related technical training is an asset.
