Marian Montessori School is looking for an individual who has a positive attitude, excellent classroom management and works as a team member.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Planning and facilitating high quality environments that reflects How Does Learning Happen for Children;
• Provide age appropriate activities based on childrens’ interests and abilities that will stimulate the growth in all domains and skills.;
• Guide children to promote independence and socialization;
• Identify, select, and modify work in the room to meet the needs of children with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs;
• Maintain positive communication with family daily about a child’s learning and the progress of the day;
• Conduct parent/teacher interviews;
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and coworkers;
• Participate in special school activities and celebrations;
• According to the age group you work with, we require either assisting with toileting or diaper changing for the children under your care. This act must be done while demonstrating respect for the child;
• Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through on-going education and attends professional development courses and workshops;
• Participate in outdoor activities with children for at least 2 hours per day;

Classroom

• Responsible for classroom cleanliness;
• Follows and implements health and safety through the uses of a variety of tools including daily observation forms, sanitary practices forms, medication forms, and the environmental assessment tools;
• Performs other duties as assigned by the centre supervisor;
• Ensure the program compliance with all Ministry and program’s standards. i.e. CCEYA, CCMA and quality first.

Qualification:

• Registered Early Childhood Educator designation (Required)
• Ability to work shifts (7:30am to 6pm)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with all age groups
• Standard First Aid CPR C+
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Immunization up to date (including a 2 step TB test)
