POSITION
We are currently seeking Community Health Centre RNs to join our team in Valemount, B.C. Positions support our goal of providing the highest standard of care to our patient population while also delivering excellence in community and occupational medicine.

It is a requirement that the RN be capable of providing patient care within their scope of practice and at the direction of a supporting physician. The RN’s approved scope of practice will primarily align with their provincial licensing body, including delegated medical acts approved by the 24/7 OEMS Medical Director, individual competence and training in selected skills, urgency of patient condition, and on‐site medical resources. Questions or concerns regarding scope of practice should be addressed through the Medical Director of 24/7 OEMS in advance of any placement.

The RN must be detail‐oriented and a solid clinician. Beginner to intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to work 12‐hours per day for up to 14‐days as part of a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off work rotation. The RN will maintain residence within the camp accommodations facility. The camp is self‐sustainable with individual room accommodations, dining and recreation facilities. The occupational health center is located within the local community.

Applicants should be comfortable with independent assessment with remote physician telemedicine support. Physicians will generally be available to respond in the community with calls shared with the McBride and District Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide primary and acute care services to those presenting to the Valemount Health Centre for health related matters.

2. Provide on-call and after-hours nurse first-call services to assist with the on-call schedule for the Valemount Health Centre.

3. Nurses should be prepared to deal with the spectrum of emergencies and age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics and all ages in between.

4. Other services as requested or required by the Clinic leadership to include, but be limited to, assistance with immunizations, primary care prevention clinics, etc.

5. Administrative tasks for 24/7 OEMS related to the Trans Mountain or other projects.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
· Unrestricted license to practice in British Columbia.
· Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Course (with certification from a nationally recognized provider).

QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience working with First Nations strongly preferred.
· Training and/or experience in providing culturally sensitive care an asset.
· Experience in occupational and / or public health will be considered an asset.
· Working knowledge of the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as WhatsApp and VSee.
· Willingness to learn programs such as electronic medical record systems as introduced by 24/7 OEMS or its’ clients. Orientation and training will be provided for any programs that an RN may have less familiarity.

SHIFTS
· Shifts are 12 hours with after‐hours call back as needed
· Rotation is 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
