The System Integration Sponsorship Team, within Planning & Development, is hiring a Senior Advisor to provide professional expertise to support the delivery of defined benefits under the GO Expansion program. The Senior Advisor will develop and implement communication strategies, support the development of Sponsor releases and documentation updates, including the Configuration State Definition Report, and support the System Integration Sponsor in the development of protocols and processes to ensure that Contractor Authority (CA) interests and objectives are realized throughout GO Expansion build delivery.
What will I be doing?
- Ensure that CA interests and business case benefit objectives are realized in Early Works, GO Expansion, OnCorr and future programs by supporting the integration of workflows and teams throughout build deliveries.
- Map out GO Expansion workflows and stakeholders according to the PA schedule, work bundles and Configuration States to ensure that the System Integration Team is engaging in the appropriate discussions with the right teams, at the right time. Document changes to the original schedule and workflows to keep this mapping current and to help identify risks resulting from changing workflows.
- Provide analytical thinking in an organized and structured manner; form conclusions and recommendations that protect the original business case objectives of projects, based on an analysis of multiple factors and interests.
- Develop strategic communication protocols and other control measures for management of task assignments within the System Integration team, aligning where possible to .initiatives within other Metrolinx groups.
- Develop and integrate processes and procedures that determine who needs to be informed or be involved in review and decision-making at various stages of work. Develop process for flow of information and tracking of information that includes a scalable methodology to address the range of build programs
- Communicate with Metrolinx groups to identify gaps or challenges in collaboration between groups.
- Ensure System Integration Sponsorship is at the table where and when needed including on Working Groups and other review and decision-making bodies; serve as that representation where directed.
- Track schedules, lead times, changes to and implications on schedules for the delivery of System Integration Sponsorship team commitments. Identify gaps in protocol for collaborative implementation process.
- Integrate System Integration Sponsor team schedule into Project Management tools to assign tasks and verify completion and delivery of these assignments.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a degree in Engineering, Public Policy, Planning, Business or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum six (6) years’ progressive experience leading strategic transportation planning projects/activities, preferably in the public sector
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.), Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation recognized by the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
- Theories, principles, and practices of communication and protocol development and make recommendations to support senior/executive level decision making
- Clear analytical thinking and adaptability combined with strong organizational skills
- Project management skills to manage effective communication and delivery protocols in support of the successful design and implementation of transportation planning projects
- Management, negotiation, and influencing skills to discuss key technical issues, foster multi-stakeholder collaboration to mitigate risks, and assist senior management with major infrastructure and investment decisions
- Relationship management and partnership building skills to develop and foster positive working relationship with diverse stakeholder groups to facilitate transportation planning and project development
