About This Role

As we evolve our central data and analytics platform a key component to our success will be our unified data ingestion strategy. The ability to quickly and efficiently source, ingest and validate data throughout our organization will be paramount to the success of our central data platform.

In addition to our data ingestion strategy this role will also oversee several MDM (Master Data Management) and external data platforms. As a team, working closely in partnership with our business partners in the chief data office, we are focused on maturing our organizations data practices to become best in class.

We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer (L11 / Director level) to oversee the modernization of these platform inline with our wider data strategy.

• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of our current vendor-based MDM platforms.
• Designing, implementing and owning the data ingestion strategy for our central Big Data platform
• Define and execute a best-in-class technology roadmap for data ingestion into our central data platform
• Collaborating with our business` product owners to define roadmaps that deliver incremental and well defined business value
• Enable, evolve, and innovate efficient data governance capabilities
• Collaborate with Production Engineering to establish a viable support model including measures and monitoring capabilities
• Hire, develop, and retain a diverse, highly skilled and performing team
• Assess Build vs. Buy opportunities, effectively adjudicate Vendor opportunities & partnerships, and make recommendations to senior leadership

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

• Proficient operating Cloudera/Hortonworks Hadoop, HDFS/HBase/Yarn/Ranger/Spark/ZK, Ambari, Dremio, Druid, Airflow
• A strong grasp of fundamental concepts of Linux (Redhat), data engineering, network, warehouses, operational databases, messaging, and data management
• Good knowledge with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS.
• Working knowledge of data migration from HDFS to ADLS using ADF.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible.
• Strong scripting skills with experience of platform automation using python/bash with version control system Git/Bitbucket
