Reporting to the Director, Process Optimization, Senior Process Optimization Specialist takes ownership for making improvements in our production processes. This role would be contract for 12months.

This role would be contract for 12months.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work as part of the larger group, including R&D and Product Optimization. Collaborating with other functions such as operations, engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, to lead process improvement initiatives and technical support with existing operations;
- Study existing product and production techniques, find root causes for issues and opportunities to improve;
- Complete production floor, product review and product sampling as needed. Plan, lead, participate and analyse production tests to advance techniques;
- Contact with suppliers, 3rd party partners and labs to understand capabilities and measure performance;
- Lead improvement projects by planning, presenting, testing and monitoring to hit production standards;
- Detail product process in costing model. Assist finance in maintenance of BOM;
- Ensure that products comply with government regulation and certification requirements;
- Support R&D initiatives were needed, maintain R&D areas and fulfil other related duties;
- Conduct research and testing of new ingredients, process techniques and packaging technologies;
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Science, Engineering, Culinary or related field
- A minimum of 1-3 years in, product development or Research and Development
- Food industry experience preferred
- Self-starter who will function under the direction of the Director, R&D with minimal supervision.
- Regular travel within GTA
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
