Who we’re looking for

The Ocean View is looking for a Server to grow with the business and contribute to a focused concept that our restaurant is aiming to bring to the community of Prince Rupert.

This will be an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in being the first contact with a customer. You will play an important role in guest satisfaction, by greeting them in a warm and friendly manner, and answering any questions about the product offering.

The right fit

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in the Front of House. Be able to hold themselves and their team to a high degree of standards; product and operation. Be accountable for the good stuff and the bad stuff. Have a passion for contributing towards a memorable customer experience.

The must haves

• Provide excellent customer service, maintaining the highest of standards at all times
• Make suggestions based on the customers preferences
• Up-sell food an beverage products when appropriate
• Comfortable with handling alcohol and patrons who are intoxicated
• Teamwork as a strength trait
• Excellent communication and collaboration, especially during busy periods and when under pressure
• Check all products at the kitchen window for quality before delivering to the customer, check for cleanliness and presentation
• Comfortable with collecting cash or card payments with accuracy, and able to remediate customer issues if required
• Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated skills at maintaining a clean and safe work environment

The nice to haves

• Experience with Spyce and TouchBistro
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift trays of food and drinks, racks of cups and other objects that might be part of daily duties

Salary: $15.65-$17.00 per hour
