Site Safety Execution Leader - Our client is a global provider of transportation products and services, from their assembly lines to customers' driveways. This position is an exciting opportunity to join this company's Global Workplace Safety Team.

You will provide support and leadership to the Site Safety Contract Management Performance Standard Champion, Company Contract Managers, and local Contractor Leadership in the execution and successful implementation of Safety Contract Management Performance Standards. It is expected that you will develop project strategy for the execution and implementation of the Safety Contract Management Performance Standard for your assigned location(s).

As a Site Safety Execution Leader, you can confidently drive Safety Culture by engaging all levels of the project and have demonstrated S&IH leadership with effective people-influencing skills. You also possess effective problem solving skills and can efficiently communicate in a variety of settings (verbal and written). You are able to identify trends and anticipate consequences to lead focused action and resolution, and can collaborate within a cross-functional organization and leverage resources. You can confidently provide direct, complete and actionable feedback, both positive and corrective. You have a reputation of stepping up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities, and are able to settle disputes equitably and find common ground with minimum noise.

Compensation and Work Schedule
  • Term: Contract position; 12 months with possibility of extension
  • Start date: April 1, 2023
  • Work Schedule: Day shift
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience
  • Work location/environment: Hybrid (report on-site to Oshawa and Ingersoll as required and WFH otherwise; up to 30% travel to other facilities across Canada as well)

Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Safety or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls); Master's Degree is preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional or Professional Engineer is desired
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex Safety and Industrial Hygiene, Contractor Safety, and Engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of building relationships, being collaborative, decisive, innovative, inspirational, and visionary
  • Leadership competencies and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and across the globe
  • Ability to Influence diverse constituencies

Responsibilities
  • Develop project strategy for the execution and implementation of the Safety Contract Management (SCM) Performance Standard for assigned location(s)
  • Attend required SCM Site Work Out sessions
  • Build a relationship with the Site SCM Performance Standard Champion
  • Mentor, teach, and coach both Company Contract Managers and Local Contractor Leader(s) to raise their capability to execute standard requirements
  • Help Company Contract Managers with gaining access to the ISN system and how to use the system to provide oversite to contractors
  • Review Contractor Safety Plan compliance and mentor Local Contractor Leader(s) and Company Contract Managers on Safety Plan expectations at the site level
  • Mentor customers on the elements of the Pre-Task Planning process (i.e., Task Risk Evaluations, Job Safety Analysis, and the Worker Safety Engagement Process)
  • Assist Service Providers in their understanding of the Critical Task Analysis process
  • Assess Company equipment use and established variances
  • Establish Contractor Evaluations and Company Evaluations
