SNOW TO is currently recruiting ON CALL HANDCREW (hand shovel/hand salt) for immediate employment.
Selected candidates will be required to be “ON CALL”. Unlike part-time work, with “on call” work the instant you are called, you are expected to go to work and perform your assigned duties. Otherwise, you will not receive the compensation.
Salary: $1800.00/month to be ON CALL, $28/hr when called for a snow event
Must be available 24hrs/day, 7 days/week at any time a snow or ice event occurs
Requirements:
- Must respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events and report to assigned snow depot
- Ability to communicate before, during and after shift
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Ability to follow safe working procedures
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Duties:
- Clear/hand shovel snow from bus stops and pile snow in designated and approved locations only
- Control ice accumulations at bus stops using de-icing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids or otherde-icing chemicals)
- Accurately document site service records for each and every site visit.
- Submit paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift and document and report any obstacles at site(s)
