Nestled in the Historic Tannery Building at the corner of Victoria and Charles, Abe Erb is perfect for your special occasion such as birthday celebrations and holiday parties! Our new games area (mini golf, bocce, cornhole) is a fun ice breaker for any event. Our private mezzanine seats 20-40, private booth on the main level seats 16, or full restaurant buyout (full or half day) available for larger corporate functions and weddings for up to 150 guests.
Overview
The Sous Chef Position is designed to give the Chef support, maintain and execute the restaurant's standards of quality in food preparation. This position also plays a key role in the successes of restaurant operations. Sous Chefs are responsible for execution of our daily and event menus.
Major Daily Responsibilities
Must report to work on time
Adherence to all Covid-19 safety protocols
Uphold systems and standards of kitchen operations by leading with professional examples and spot-checking
Accountable for supporting standards of cleanliness, timing, uniform, grooming, organization, production, food quality, and consistency
Accurately complete all food orders
Work as a team
Maintain inventory on all food products
Complete all food production sheets
Expected to help any station in the kitchen including event preperation
Monitors daily prep production of food
Ensures high level of cleanliness
Notify the chef of any repairs required to the kitchen equipment
Responsible for logging all fridge temperatures in a timely manner
Supports ongoing development of all Kitchen staff
Responsible for various types of breakfast cookery, and setting up for lunch including, but not limited to, bread making, pastry, desserts, stock, soups, sauces, fish, meat, poultry, vegetables, salads, appetizers, entrées, hot line, banquets and hors d’oeuvres
To insure that the guests needs are always the priority
Actively involved in new kitchen staff training
Supports Chef in culinary direction
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-4 years well rounded experience in a restaurant
Understanding of Knife use and safety
Must be innovative, detail oriented and quality driven
Able to present foods that are visually pleasing.
Creative, energetic, with good interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility with schedule must be able to do shift work and adhere to fluctuating business levels
Must be able to perform in a high pace stressful environment
Understands empowerment and its use in creating wow guests experiences
Good Communication skills with culinary team and all other departments.
Ability to up production levels and work output to match business levels.
Understanding of F.I.F.O. and product yield

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
