Student Life Facilitator

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• An understanding of the student life cycle, the post-secondary student experience(s) with an emphasis on student organizations, student clubs and extracurricular activities
• Ability to work collaboratively to analyze and develop plans for student by partnering with various departments in the College
• Ability to work independently, develop short-term objectives and ensure follow-through for all coordinated efforts
• Team-building experience
• Strong intercultural competencies and experience working with international students
• Event organization experience and expertise
• Volunteer management experience
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to work within a budget
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, including students, co-workers and management
• Strong skills and experience in data collection, analysis and reporting, and excellent skills in research and writing

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 – 2 years recent related experience working in a post-secondary institution (College or University) or similar student environment
• Experience in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is preferred

Keyano College is a comprehensive community institution in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Keyano College is seeking a Student Life Facilitator to join the International Education, Global Citizenship & Student Life team. Student Life oversees student recruitment, transition, success and retention through active campus-wide and community engagement, academic determination, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion on campus.

The Student Life Facilitator is an integral supporter of student success and retention. This position will work collaboratively with the Students’ Association of Keyano College to operationalize initiatives to engage students. This person will support the coordination and delivery of an effective orientation program for all new students. They will promote the development of Student Life initiatives with the best interests of students in mind. They will support the department in the development and implementation of new initiatives that support academic growth, college-wide learning outcomes, transition, retention and satisfaction. The Student Life Facilitator will provide feedback and guidance on planning and event management.

Advertised Salary
CUPE IS5 - $60,460.09 per annum and includes a comprehensive health and benefits package. This position qualifies for the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month. This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval.
